The obituary of Jabez Morrill reads, "At Weare, of the dysentery, on the 16th August, Mr. Jabez Morrill, aged 55. By his death, his wife is deprived of a kind husband; his children of an indulgent parent; the town of a useful member of society, of a good citizen, of their Representative in General Court, and one of their Selectmen."
