John Morrill commanded of the 64th Regiment Infantry, Illinois, also known as the "Yates Sharpshooters." He was Captain, later Colonel, and finally was breveted as Brigadier General after being severely wounded on July 22, 1864 at the Seige of Petersburg. CHILDREN
