In 1870, Leonard Morrill is found living in Salisbury with John and Sarah Sanborn but without the rest of his family. Leonard Morrill of Amesbury enlisted as a Private on 1 August 1862 at the age of 29 in Company I, 1st Heavy Artillery Regiment Massachusetts. He mustered out on 8 July 1864 and then reenlisted on 29 August 1864 in Company 29th, Unattached Heavy Artillery Regiment Massachusetts. He mustered out again on 16 June 1865. [6] CHILDREN
