The obituary of Moses Morrill reads, "In Sanford, Mr. Moses Morrill, in the 32nd year of his age. Few men in common life will be more missed than the deceased. As a trader he was upright and punctual in his dealings; not only meriting the confidence but enjoying the esteem of all who had any concern with him. As a neighbor and a friend, he cannot soon be forgotten; and his example as a man of pure morality sheds a lustre around the vicinity where he resided. His loss to society will not easily be repaired. But to his aged parents, remaining brother and sisters, and above all to her who was the friend of his youth and the wife of his affections, and to the infant child, it can only be made up by looking beyond this world of sorrow and affliction to that world where sorrows and death can never come."
