Nahum Morrill became a lawyer in Dover, and then came to Auburn, Maine, in 1846. In 1859, he was appointed Judge of Probate for Androscoggin County. During the Civil War, he served as District Provost Marshall. His son John A. Morrill joined him in law practice. [2]
