[7]Samuel Morrill served as a private in the Civil War. He served in Company E, 22nd Regiment Maine Infantry, October 10, 1862 to August 14, 1863. He then served in the 6th Battery 1st Battalion Maine Light Artillery, September 1, 1864 to May 13, 1865. After the war, he lived in Dexter, Maine. By the time of the 1880 census, he was working in a woolen mill in that town. .
